Left Hand Tenn. Mountain Rifle

by J.D. Anderson

New Unfired Condition in .40 caliber

This is a very nice rifle that was made by J.D. Anderson of Tullahoma, Tenn.

The stock is a piece of beautiful figured walnut and is in like new condition except for a very small chip out in front of the trigger guard. The barrel is by Green Mountain and is 42" long by 13/16" across the flats and in .40 caliber. The bore is mint. It has a patent style hook breech. The lock is an original G. Goulcher with a fly in the tumbler to work with the set triggers. The triggers will work set or unset. I have had many of these old locks and they will work well for many years due to the forged springs and better workmanship than most locks have today. All of the metal parts have been nicely browned.

Walnut this nice would cost me $400 just for the blank stock today.

Overall the gun is in unfired condition and it holds and points very well.

Weight is 7 lbs. 14 ozs.  Pull is 14".
