Lithgow dated 1941
This is a very nice rifle with
all matching numbers including the forend. The wood on this one is in good
condition with the usual dents and dings. There is one deep
ding on the right side shown in the pictures and it has an
arsenal repair in the forend as well. It is marked FTR
(factory through repair) which was done in 1952 at the
Maltby Arsenal according to the markings. All of the parts
are correct for a Lithgow rifle.
There is about 95%
blue left on the metal with the protected barrel having
about 99% left. The bore is a little rough but has good
strong rifling and might clean up better, about a 7/10. The bolt,
nosecap and rear sight numbers all
match the receiver. It is import marked lightly on the receiver.
Overall a very nice collectable rifle that
would be a good shooter and a great addition to any collection.
The pictures will tell you more.
