Springfield M1 Garand

Dated 1944 Arsenal Rebuild in .30-06 caliber

This is a nice rifle that originally came through CMP about 20 years ago. No paperwork with it now. I bought it from the son of the original purchaser.

All the parts are correct for this gun as a rebuild. It is probably an arsenal rebuild and not by CMP due to the brass re-enforcing pins in the stock. The receiver serial number dates it to March 1944 and the barrel is dated January 1944. All of the parts are Springfield except for the trigger group and the bolt which are Winchester. The walnut stock is in very good condition and has the usual dents and dings from handling. If there is a crack necessitating the need for the brass pins, I can't see it. The metal parts retain 85%-90% of the original parkerizing except for the gas cylinder lock with is bright. The bore is very good with no pits and strong rifling. The erosion measurement is throat/2 and muzzle/3.

I fired this rifle and it shoots great and still very accurate. Comes with the original canvas sling.

The pictures will tell you more. Contact me if you need pictures of something I missed.
