This is a
pretty nice double made by Phil Hanger back in the
1980s. The barrels are 29¾"
long and are an original damascus twist barrel
that has been honed smooth on the inside and refinished
on the outside. Very bold and beautiful pattern. The
patent breeches are inset to give the gun a slimmer
style. The locks are by L&R and an extra set of springs
come with the gun. The stock is English walnut with
mineral streaks in it. Nice flat top checkering on the
wrist. The wood to metal fit is as good as I have seen
on any original high class double. Extremely tight
inside and out. Phil admitted that he was not an
engraver so he did not clean up the engraving on the
original parts he used. This gun would be even more
exceptional if the locks and hardware were engraved
properly and then color case hardened.
This gun is used
but is in excellent condition and would make an excellent shooter.
The pictures can tell you more.
