Japanese Type 99 #2

Toyo Kogyo Arsenal (1939-1945)

Series 32

Anti Aircraft sight, No Mum

in 7.7 x 58

This is a very nice early war rifle. It has the chrome lined bore which is in excellent condition. These were the first military rifles to have a chrome bore. Great idea in the tropics and with corrosive primers. The bolt numbers do not match the receiver on this one. The bolt face and the magazine follower are very clean and the gun appears to be unfired. The Mum is ground off but the rest of the metal has 95+% of the original bluing left. The front sight is the early version with the side guards. The cleaning rod is the short type. The wood is in good condition with typical dents and dings but no cracks or chips. The nicest and rare feature on this rifle is that it still has the anti aircraft sight intact with the wings. This rifle has not been taken apart since it left the arsenal as the locking punches next to the three action bolts have not been disturbed. There are no import marks.

Overall a very nice, clean rifle that would be a good shooter and an excellent addition to any collection.
