Japanese Type 99 #3
Nagoya Arsenal (1939-1945)
in 7.7 x 58
This is a very nice early war
rifle. It does not have a chrome lined barrel but the bore is in
excellent condition. I would rate it 8+/10. The bolt numbers
don't match the receiver on
this one. The bolt face and the magazine follower are very
clean. I would almost call it unfired. The Mum is ground
off but the rest of the metal has 95+% of the original
bluing left. The front sight is the early version with the
side guards. It has not been drilled for a cleaning rod. The wood is
in very good/excellent condition with a few typical dents
and dings but no cracks or chips. The buttstock two piece
joint is very tight. The rifle has the anti
aircraft sight but the wings have been removed. There are no import marks.
Overall a very nice, clean rifle that
would be a good shooter and an excellent addition to any collection.
