German K98 Mauser dated 1944 (byf)

in 8mm (7.92x57)

This is an extremely nice rifle in excellent condition inside and out. Hard to find one this nice now.

This is an excellent example of a late war K98 Mauser. It was made in the Oberndorf factory (byf) in 1944. The stock is clean with the usual handling and storage dings. No chips or cracks. The surface of the wood is slightly rough which would be expected on a late war gun being rushed to the front. The metal parts still retain 95+% of the original bluing. The numbers ALL match including the bolt. The bolt has the late round holes as opposed to the earlier oval cuts. The bore is excellent/mint. It has the original cleaning rod. I didn't take this one apart but I don't see any evidence of rust anywhere.

Overall a very nice, clean rifle that would be an excellent addition to any collection.

The pictures will tell you more. Contact me if you need pictures of something I missed.
