a custom made gun by G. L. Jones. It is a rifle style but
has a smooth bore. The barrel is oct-round 38" long and has
a touch hole liner as well as front and rear sights. I
haven't pulled the barrel to check the maker but it looks
like a Getz barrel. The lock is a large Siler with lots of
engraving. The stock is walnut and has lots of raised and
incised carving. The hardware is steel that has been left
bright. The brown spots that show on the steel parts is not
rust but dried oil.
There are no gaps in the inletting. The gun is used but the
frizzen is still smooth and the bore is excellent so I don't
think it has seen a lot of use. It balances and holds well.
Weight is 7 lbs. 6 oz. Pull is 14".
