pistol is new, unfired and in the box with papers. It is
made by Pietta of Italy and is a Model 1858 Confederate
Remington style in .44
caliber. This one has nice figure in the walnut grips and
comes with an extra cylinder. This pistol and extra cylinder retails for $290.
Due to a lack of raw materials in the mid-1800s, the South
was forced to reproduce the famous 1858 Remington revolver
out of brass. The Pietta Model 1858 New Army Brass Frame
.44-Caliber single-action Black Powder Revolver celebrates
the classic look and handling. Features include a brass
frame and finger guard, blued cylinder, octagonal barrel and
walnut grips. Easily removable, replaceable cylinders make
reloading extremely fast.
I have always been impressed with the quality of these
pistols for the price. I don't think the originals were much
better when new.
