Stock Seconds

 

 These seconds are good usable stocks but could not be sold as first quality and go with the kits I produce. I hope to sell these fast so I don't have to build them all into complete guns. These can also be substituted for a 1st quality stock in a kit for a reduction in price. Email or call for details.

If you buy one of these, look it over carefully when you receive it and make sure you are happy with the stock. Once you start work on it, they are no longer returnable.

Most defects will not be noticeable when the gun is completed. These are all inlet for a small Siler lock and a Rice 'A' weight 10" swamped pistol barrel. The maple stocks all are very nice premium wood with curl the entire length. All ramrod holes are drilled 5/16" for tapered rods. I don't suggest drilling them larger as it may then block the forward lock bolt. 

The sideplate inlet is for #SP-LASM-B Small Lancaster sideplate in brass available from Muzzleloader Builder's Supply Click here or you can easily cut one out of 1/8" thick brass yourself.

Pistol Stock Second #1

This stock is curly maple. There is an X marked where the side got a little thin. Still very useable, just make the left side match. Also has ramrod hole showing in the lock mortise which will not interfere with the mainspring. Surface has been sanded smooth.

This stock is curly maple. There is an X marked where the side got a little thin. Still very useable, just make the left side match. Also has not been inlet for the trigger plate, guard or thimbles which gives more flexibility in choosing parts to complete the gun. Surface has been sanded smooth.

This stock is curly maple and has a thin shim glued along the left side of the barrel inlet where the channel was cut too wide. Barrel fits tight now. Surface is as machined, no sanding.

This stock is walnut and has lighter wood on the left side. Other than that there is no other problems. Inlets are fine. As machined, no sanding done.

Pistol Stock Second #7

This stock is walnut and has a slightly wide barrel channel. It is about 1/32" on either side. It could be shimmed or have the barrel bedded. Once done it will be hard to notice. Other than that there is no other problems. Inlets are fine. As machined, no sanding done.
