Lee Enfield #4 MkI*

 U.S. Property Marked by Savage

in .303

This is a rifle I received that was sporterized and I restored to military configuration using original Savage marked parts. The top handguards, trigger and trigger guard are the only parts not marked with the 'S' for Savage.

This rifle is a nice example. The walnut wood has the usual dents and dings from use and handling over the years. The rear handguard has a repaired crack otherwise the wood is very good/excellent for the age. The metal parts are losing some for the finish in places but there has never been any rust to cause pitting in the past. The action works smoothly and the 2 groove rifled bore is very good and would rate 8+/10 for condition. All numbers match including the bolt. The gun is not dated but these were made between 1941 and 1945.

Overall a very nice, clean rifle that would be a good shooter and an excellent addition to any collection.

The pictures will tell you more. Contact me if you need pictures of something I missed.
