Percussion Sheriff Model Pistol

in .44

This pistol is new, unfired and in the box with papers. It is made by Pietta of Italy and is a Model 1851 Confederate .44 caliber.

The Pietta Model 1851 Confederate Navy .44-Caliber Black Powder Revolver, patterned after the original, is constructed with a brass frame to conserve the South's limited supply of steel. It features a blued 4.875 octagonal barrel, blued cylinder, walnut grips and brass trigger guard. The shorter barrel makes it easier to holster and handle. It has the correct cylinder pins so that the hammer could be lowered on one of the pins between the nipples to more safely carry the pistol with all six chambers loaded. The bottom of the grip is cut for a shoulder stock but the frame behind the cylinder is not cut for the stock.

I have always been impressed with the quality of these pistols for the price. I don't think the originals were much better when new.
