This is a
very well made fowler made from a Jim Chamber's New
England Colonial Fowler kit.
This gun has been
used so it has natural patina already applied. The stock
is a nice piece of walnut with a hand rubbed finish.
There are several small dings and rubs from use but no
cracks or serious dents. The barrel is by Getz and is
43" long in 12 gauge. The bore is excellent. (I honed
the bore lightly to freshen it.) Bore measures .725 at
the muzzle. It is not choked but there is a touch hole
liner installed. The lock is Chamber's Early Virginia
style and sparks very well. The hardware is brass. The
inlets are tight but there are a couple of tiny gaps at
the rear of the lock mortise from taking the lock in and
out for cleaning and there is a small chip out at the
rear of the tang.
Overall a well
made, solid gun for hunting or re-enacting.
Weight 8 lbs.
Pull is 14"
