I
don't usually sell imported guns but this one belongs to a club member and I
took pity I guess. It is a Lyman Great Plains rifle which is one of the better
Hawken copies available. The gun has been updated with an L&R Late English lock
for better reliability. The steel parts are deeply browned which is turning grey
with age. The triggers will fire set or
unset. The barrel is 33" long with 2 wedges and a hook breech for easy cleaning
just like the originals. Bore is very good and has a touch hole liner. The nosecap is
poured pewter. The wood American walnut. The sights have been painted white for
better visibility which can be removed if so desired. The gun holds well and
would be a good hunting rifle.
Weight is 9 lbs. 10oz. Pull is 14".
