This is a nice original English half stock gun from about 1830-1850. It was made
by William Dupe of London and Oxford, England. He worked from about 1780 to
1830, possibly later as info is sketchy on him.
This gun was originally a smoothbore but now
has a new .54 rifled liner made by Don Greene. It was also originally made as a
percussion but someone in the past decided to make it a flintlock. Why? Don't
ask me. The conversion was well done and the lock works very well. The 33"
damascus barrel is in very good condition and the bore is excellent due to the
new rifled liner. It does have a touch hole liner. The English walnut stock is
overall sound and has some nice figure in the grain. There is one small piece of
wood missing in front of the lock. The checkering is in good condition as well.
The current owner has fired it often and says it is very accurate. The woven
sling was added recently as the gun was not setup for a sling originally. Nice
handy hunting rifle.
Weight is 9 lbs. 10 ozs. Pull is 14⅜".
