Fancy English Hunting Rifle

This particular rifle has a .54 caliber 38" long swamped barrel, Chamber's Early English lock and brass mounts. The patchbox and carving are accented with silver wire inlays. The wrist inlay of silver is engraved with the owner's initials. The stock is curly maple with a brass nosecap. Maple was quite often exported to Europe and was used on many English guns during the 18th century.
