This particular rifle has a .54 caliber 38" long swamped barrel, Chamber's
English lock and brass mounts.
The patchbox and carving are accented with silver
wire inlays. The wrist inlay
of silver is engraved with the
owner's initials. The stock
is curly maple with a brass nosecap. Maple was quite
often exported to Europe and
used on many English guns during the 18th century.
