This is a very nice bow and arrow set made by Keith Casteel 25-30 years ago. It has
seen very little use and is in excellent condition although the deerskin quiver
is starting to become weak from age.
The bow is hickory and is backed with rattlesnake skin. The tips and the
leather grip has sinew wrappings. The owner says he has never strung it but it
is probably close to a 50 pound pull. It measures 68" in length. There are arrow
rests on both sides of the grip to accommodate left or right hand shooters. The
twelve arrows are 28" in length and made from a light hardwood. Six have field
points with the rest having steel trade type points. The turkey fletching is
properly held in place with sinew as was the fashion of the time.
The back of the quiver is signed by Keith. This is a very unusual item by one of
the top gunmakers of the day. Keith is now in his 90s.
