Lancaster Rifle

By W. McNeese

42" barrel in .50 cal

This is a very nice custom longrifle by Wayne McNeese. It is built from a Isaac Haines kit. This rifle is lightly used but in very good condition.

This rifle is stocked in a piece of very nice curly maple that that is stained to a nice medium brown with a hand-rubbed oil finish. The carving is more York County in style which is a neighbor of Lancaster so it fits well. The hardware is brass that has lightly aged to a nice patina. The barrel is probably a Colerain "B" weight, 42" long swamped in .50 caliber. The bore is in excellent condition. The lock is a Chamber's large Siler style and there is a touch hole liner. The trigger is a unique forged style.

Overall it is in very good condition. Inlets are tight and well done.
