This is a nice York style rifle by Homer Dangler. Here is a nice article on
Homer.
Click here. Homer was well known in the muzzle loading community. He passed
away in December 2019 at the age of 94. His browning solution and stock stains
have been around for many years and still available.
It is lightly used and in very good condition.
It is stocked in curly maple stained to a medium brown.
The barrel is
a straight 42" long,
⅞" across the flats in .50 caliber.
I haven't pulled it to check the maker but might be a Green Mountain barrel. There is a touch hole liner. The bore is
excellent. The lock is a large Siler flint. It has a single set trigger which needs to be set before cocking and firing. The gun is mounted
in brass with a natural patina. There is light engraving on the sideplate, guard
and buttplate.
Inlets are tight and well done. Overall a nice and well styled rifle.
Weight is 9 lbs. 3 oz. Pull is 14".
