York Rifle

German silver mounts

44" Barrel in .36 caliber

This is an extremely nice York style rifle by James Fleenor. This lock has been snapped but I don't think it has been fired. The pictures don't do this gun justice. It not only has quality parts but excellent workmanship. The engraving alone is worth half the price of the rifle, and look at what you get for the other half!

This rifle is stocked in a nice piece of walnut with German silver hardware. The patchbox and the rest of the metal parts are very neatly engraved. The inlay under the cheek holds a touch hole pick. The pierced inlay under the forearm is well done and is a nice touch. The barrel is a swamped 44" long "A" weight Rice in .36 caliber. It has a deep browned finish. There is a touch hole liner. The bore is excellent. The lock is an L&R Durs Egg that has been engraved and case-colored. The double set triggers are by L&R as well and can be fired set or unset. Inlets are tight and well done. Overall a very nice and well styled rifle. Holds and balances very nicely.

Weight is 8 lbs. 5 oz.   Pull is 14½".
