Early Christian Springs Transition Rifle

31" Barrel in .62 caliber

This is a nice early style Christian Springs or Bethlehem, PA rifle. It was made by Chuck Hinkle and has his signature moon/sun inlay on the wrist. This rifle is lightly used and has been well cared for by the current owner.

This rifle is stocked in a nice piece of walnut with brass hardware that has a nice patina. The raised carving is very well designed and executed. There is some nice wire accents as well. Some of the wire and the cheek star were beginning to come loose so I have fixed those and they are solidly attached again. The patchbox is taken from an early rifle attributed to Jacob  Dickert rifle. The patchbox and sideplate are engraved. The barrel is a swamped 31" long in .62 caliber. The steel parts have a deep browned finish. There is a touch hole liner. The bore is excellent. The lock is a Chamber's round face English flint. The double set triggers can be fired set or unset. There is a forward swivel and rear button for a sling to be attached. Inlets are tight and well done. Overall a very nice and well styled rifle. Holds and balances very nicely.

Weight is 8 lbs. 5 oz.   Pull is 14".
