This particular rifle has a .54 caliber 36" long swamped barrel, Chamber's round faced Virginia lock and brass mounts. The patchbox and carving are accented with silver wire inlays. The cheek is inlaid with a hunter's star made of ebony and ivory. The nose cap is ebony. The ramrod has a horn tip. The wrist is checkered and has an inlay of silver which is engraved with the owner's family crest. The stock is curly maple. Maple was quite often exported to Europe and was used on many English guns during the 18th century. I also made the custom hand sewn sling for the rifle.
