Fancy Jaeger Rifle

in .58 caliber

   

Barrel is by Colerain. It is a swamped D weight .58 caliber octagonal and is 31" long. The rear sight has a folding leaf for two set distances when sighting. The stock is a nice piece of lightly figured English walnut that has been lightly stained and aged. The nosecap,  ramrod tip and patchbox inlay are black horn. The lock is a Chamber's Germanic style which has been reworked into a round face style. The iron hardware was cast from an original Jaeger rifle made about 1730. The barrel, lock and all steel parts have been aged to a nice grey color. The sling is linen with a brass buckle.

Weight is 7 lbs. 8 oz. Length of pull is 13½".
