Lightening Painted Trade Gun

The paint design for this trade gun came from the painting by Benjamin West titled

'The Death of General Wolfe'.

This gun is a typical English style from the mid 18th century. The brass mounts were all copied from original pieces. The barrel is by Rice and is 48" long, octagon to round. The lock is by Davis. It is correctly marked with 'London' on the top of the barrel and View, Proof and barrel maker's stamps on the side flat.

 

Weight is 7 lbs. and the length of pull is 13 ¾".
