American Pistol

This pistol is typical of many made during the last part of the 18th century or early 19th century. The barrel is 13" long and .50 caliber making it a legal length to hunt with in some states. The lock is an old Dixie Gun Works that I tuned up to improve performance. The stock is curly maple with brass mounts and a poured pewter nosecap. The sideplate has been engraved with the owner's name in Cherokee syllabus.
