This pistol is typical of many made during the last part of the 18th century or
early 19th century.
The barrel is 13" long and .50 caliber making it a legal length to hunt with in
some states. The lock
is an old
Dixie Gun Works that I tuned up to improve performance. The stock is curly maple
with
brass mounts and a
poured pewter nosecap. The sideplate has been engraved with the owner's
name in
Cherokee syllabus. |
