This is my version of a nice early Virginia style Barn gun. The barrel is 44" long,
swamped in .50 caliber and 1 1/16" across at the breech. The lock is a
English Ketland style. The guard is
hand forged by me from an early Va. rifle. Maple stock with no buttplate or entry
thimble. This one has a full sideplate and a touch hole pick under the cheek
piece. Just a good basic rifle that would have been right at home on a backwoods
farm or out on the frontier.
Weight is 7¾ lbs. Pull is 13¾".
