This is an American
pistol in a style common from about 1780 to 1800. It is stocked
in figured maple and has brass hardware. The handmade barrel is
9" long and is .56 caliber. The lock is a reworked small Siler.
The rest is all handmade.
This is a
pistol I made as a summer interpreter in the gunshop
at Colonial Williamsburg in 1988. The barrel was
made by Jon Laubach when he was a journeyman in the
shop.
This one has a 9" barrel in .45
caliber with an L&R 'Bailes' lock.
This one has a really nice piece of
curly maple wood. The barrel is 10"
octagon to round in .50 caliber. The
lock is an L&R 'Bailes' lock.
