Lehigh Valley, Penn.

This rifle is typical of one from the Lehigh Valley, Penn. region circa 1785-1795. This one has a commercial lock and barrel and everything else is hand made. I gave it a slight aging as well. Almost all of the guns from this area were incised instead of raised carved. This is one of my favorite styles. The overall shape is more flowing and less angular than those guns from other parts of Penn. The mix of the brass with silver wire and inlay adds a nice touch.
